Doping free
All ingredients used in Equilin products are doping free. This means that no raw materials were used of which it is known that they may result in positive doping screens*, or may be expected to result in positive doping screens in the future.
We do whatever lies in our abilities to supply a doping free product:
- selecting our suppliers with the utmost care;
- demanding analysis reports of our ingredients;
- having our products made and packed at GMP+ and HACCP certified companies where no pharmaceutical preparations are developed;
- saving samples of our products and ingredients;
- screening the horses that are being fed our products.
However, where there are people there is human error. We cannot guarantee for a 100 percent that no mistakes will be made in the production process. For instance that at some point in the process some other raw material was mixed in, or that some weed was left behind in harvest (for example poppy seed). The chance that incidents like this will lead to positive doping screens seems highly unlikely to us (a 0.001% chance), but simply cannot be excluded for 100 percent.
Equilin will take moral responsibility at all times for the products it composes.
*There is a very low dosage of salicylate acid (an NSAID) in lucerne (alfalfa). But because it is not at all uncommon to feed lucerne to performance horses, international threshold values have been adopted for it in all equestrian disciplines. Several kilos of lucerne can be fed without any risk whatsoever of it leading to positive doping screens. The maintenance dose of Equilin Basic contains less than 150 grams of lucerne.
